This is called “Shiny Object Syndrome”. Shiny object syndrome is the situation where people focus undue attention on an idea that is new and trendy, yet drop this as soon as something new takes its place.
This is destructive behavior for their companies.
Your company needs your attention. Let me rephrase that, your ‘people’ need your attention.
No one will be as passionate about the company as you!
So don’t get distracted. There’s a lot more work that needs to be done.
Remember, business is equal parts fun and not fun activities. You cannot skimp over the not-fun activities.
To help avoid getting distracted, create an amazing vision that will take you at least 10-15 years to achieve.
